Bologna 3-3 Inter: Nerazzurri Fight Back in Six-Goal Thriller at the Dall’Ara

Inter erase a two-goal deficit in the second half as Dimarco, Pio Esposito and Diouf rescue a dramatic draw against Bologna on Matchday 38

Inter closed their Serie A season with an entertaining 3-3 draw away to Bologna in one of the wildest matches of Matchday 38. What started as a promising afternoon for the Nerazzurri quickly turned chaotic, as Bologna overturned an early deficit before Inter stormed back late to salvage a point.

The reigning Italian champions struck first in spectacular fashion midway through the opening half. Federico Dimarco curled a brilliant free kick into the top corner to give Inter the lead and silence the home crowd at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

The advantage lasted only three minutes.

Federico Bernardeschi continued his strong run of form by pouncing inside the box and firing home the equalizer for Bologna. The Rossoblù kept pushing and completed the turnaround before halftime when Tommaso Pobega reacted quickest to a loose ball in the area, with his shot taking a decisive deflection off Lautaro Martínez on its way into the net.

Bologna extended their lead immediately after the restart in fortunate circumstances. A dangerous delivery into the area ricocheted off Piotr Zielinski and into his own goal, leaving Josep Martinez helpless as the hosts moved 3-1 ahead.

At that point, Bologna appeared in complete control, but Inter found new life thanks to an inspired performance from Diouf in the final half hour.

In the 64th minute, the wing-back produced a powerful solo run before smashing the post. Francesco Pio Esposito reacted fastest to the rebound and tapped home to cut the deficit to one.

Inter continued to push forward and finally found the equalizer in the 87th minute. Debutant Topalovic delivered a clever assist into the box and Diouf finished calmly to complete the comeback and secure a dramatic draw in the final Serie A match of the season.
