Dominant first-half display on Matchday 35 puts Roma just one point off the top four
Roma delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, thrashing Fiorentina 4-0 and reigniting their push for a Champions League place.
The Giallorossi wasted no time asserting control, scoring three goals inside the opening 34 minutes and effectively putting the game to bed before halftime.
The breakthrough came in the 13th minute, when Gianluca Mancini powered home a header from a corner. Just five minutes later, Wesley doubled the lead with a curling right-footed strike following a slick team move.
Roma were relentless, and their third goal arrived in the 34th minute. Manu Koné drove through midfield before setting up Mario Hermoso, who calmly finished to cap a dominant spell.
Fiorentina had no answer to Roma’s intensity, with Dodô and Albert Guðmundsson among those who struggled throughout the match.
Roma maintained full control after the break and added a fourth goal in the 58th minute through Edoardo Pisilli, finishing off an assist from Donyell Malen to complete the rout.
With this emphatic win, Roma move to within one point of the fourth spot and keep their Champions League hopes firmly alive with three matches remaining.
