Juventus 1-1 Sassuolo: Muric Saves Late Penalty to Deny Bianconeri

Yildiz opens the scoring, but Pinamonti equalizes and Muric’s late heroics secure a point for Sassuolo on Serie A Matchday 30.

Juventus were held to a frustrating 1–1 draw at home by Sassuolo, missing a golden opportunity to strengthen their position in the race for Champions League qualification.

Luciano Spalletti’s side dominated large portions of the match and created numerous chances but failed to capitalize, with Sassuolo punishing their inefficiency and goalkeeper Amir Muric emerging as the decisive figure.

Juventus made a strong start and took the lead in the 10th minute. Francisco Conceição—arguably the standout performer on the pitch—delivered a perfect assist for Kenan Yildiz, who finished clinically to put the hosts ahead.

The Bianconeri continued to push for a second goal, with Khéphren Thuram and Pierre Kalulu both going close before halftime. However, their inability to extend the lead kept Sassuolo in the match.

The visitors came out with renewed determination after the break and found the equalizer in the 52nd minute. A well-worked attacking move involving Volpato and Domenico Berardi set up Andrea Pinamonti, who anticipated Bremer inside the box and finished to make it 1–1.

The goal shifted momentum. Juventus momentarily lost their structure, allowing Sassuolo to grow in confidence, though the visitors rarely troubled goalkeeper Mattia Perin.

As the match entered its final stages, Juventus regained control and launched a sustained attacking push. Jeremie Boga came close with both a shot and a header, but Muric proved unbeatable, making crucial saves to keep his side level.

The defining moment arrived in the 87th minute when Juventus were awarded a penalty. Manuel Locatelli stepped up, but his weak effort was easily saved by Muric, who guessed correctly and secured a crucial stop.

In stoppage time, Arkadiusz Milik also tested the Sassuolo goalkeeper, but once again Muric denied the hosts, sealing a valuable point for the visitors.

The draw represents a missed opportunity for Juventus, while Sassuolo will be satisfied with a hard-earned result that strengthens their position in the middle of the table.
