Juventus Push for Jean-Philippe Mateta: €30–35 Million Needed to Beat Crystal Palace

The Bianconeri want Dusan Vlahovic’s heir immediately, not in the summer — and Daniel Maldini remains firmly on the radar

Juventus are not waiting for the summer. The Bianconeri are moving now, determined to secure the striker who will replace Dusan Vlahovic once the Serbian forward leaves in June. The profile has already been identified, and all roads lead to one name: Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Negotiations to bring the Crystal Palace striker to Turin are already underway. Contacts between Juventus and the representatives of the 28-year-old French forward are ongoing, with the clear idea of signing Mateta immediately and placing him under Luciano Spalletti’s guidance without waiting for the next transfer window. Dealing with Premier League clubs is never cheap, but Juventus are actively working to find the right formula to convince Crystal Palace to part ways with their striker, who has scored eight goals in 21 appearances so far this season. The asking price is expected to be no less than €30–35 million.

Mateta may not be the only offensive reinforcement Juventus are considering. Interest remains strong in Daniel Maldini, a move that would not be an alternative to the Crystal Palace striker but rather a complementary addition. The idea inside the club is to deliver a double boost to Spalletti’s attacking options.

At Atalanta, the 2001-born forward has struggled to find the playing time he believes he deserves. A call from Juventus could accelerate his departure from Bergamo, where he has featured mostly as a substitute this season, totaling 11 appearances with just one assist to his name. Those numbers fall short for a player considered a significant prospect, including from an Italian national team perspective.
