Lazio swept Verona aside with a dominant 4-0 win at the Olimpico, with Taty Castellanos stealing the spotlight as he scored once and provided two assists.
After the disappointment of their opening defeat to Como, Lazio bounced back in style in front of their home crowd. Maurizio Sarri’s side needed less than a half to secure the points, producing one of their most convincing first-half displays in recent memory.
Just three minutes in, Castellanos set up Guendouzi for the opener, giving Lazio the perfect start. Moments later, the Argentine forward dazzled the Olimpico with a rabona assist that sent Zaccagni through on goal for the second. Castellanos then turned scorer, heading home from a Rovella free kick to make it 3-0 before halftime.
Verona had no answers to Lazio’s relentless rhythm, struggling to cope defensively and offering little going forward. The second half brought more of the same, and the hosts capped off their night in the 82nd minute: substitute Belahyane squared the ball for Dia, who tapped in the fourth.
It was a statement win for Lazio, showing attacking flair and confidence across the pitch, while Verona will be left to regroup after a nightmarish performance in Rome.
