Spalletti’s side held on Matchday 35 despite dominance, as Verona’s resistance and the woodwork deny victory
Juventus were left frustrated after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by already-relegated Verona, missing a chance to strengthen their grip on third place in Serie A.
Despite controlling large stretches of the match, the Bianconeri failed to capitalize on their dominance and had to settle for a single point, leaving a bitter taste at the Allianz Stadium.
Juventus started strongly, dictating tempo and creating early chances through Conceição, Yildiz, and Bremer, but lacked precision in the final third. Against the run of play, however, Verona stunned the hosts in the 34th minute.
A costly mistake from Bremer in buildup gifted the ball to Bradaric, who squared it to Bowie for a simple finish from close range, putting the visitors ahead.
Juventus struggled briefly after conceding but came out with renewed energy in the second half. The turning point arrived just after the hour mark when Dušan Vlahović, introduced at halftime, curled in a superb free kick to level the score at 1-1.
From that moment on, Juventus pushed relentlessly for a winner. Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò produced several key saves, while the Bianconeri were also denied by bad luck—most notably in stoppage time when Zhegrova struck the post.
Despite a late siege, Juventus could not find the breakthrough, dropping valuable points in the race for Champions League positioning, even as they edge closer to securing third place.
