LAZIO 0-2 ATALANTA: Ederson from the Spot, Zalewski Seals It as Dea Conquer the Olimpico

Ederson converts a penalty before a stunning Zalewski strike, while Carnesecchi stands tall to hand ATALANTA a statement win in Rome.

Serie A Matchday 25 delivered a major boost to Atalanta’s European ambitions, as Gianluca Palladino’s side earned a convincing 2-0 away victory over Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

The win marked ATALANTA’s second in a row and lifted them to 42 points, overtaking COMO into sixth place and closing the gap—at least temporarily—on Juventus and Roma.

First Half: Pressure, Cards, and Ederson’s Precision

LAZIO started on the front foot, forcing ATALANTA into early defensive trouble. Scalvini and Ahanor were both booked inside the opening minutes, with the latter replaced midway through the half to avoid further risk.

After weathering the early storm, ATALANTA grew into the contest and struck just before halftime. A Zappacosta cross struck Cataldi’s arm in the box, and referee Sacchi immediately pointed to the spot. Ederson stepped up and calmly sent Provedel the wrong way to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break.

Second Half: Carnesecchi Wall, Zalewski Brilliance

The decisive moments came early in the second half. LAZIO went close to equalizing when Noslin met a cross with a powerful header, only to be denied by a sensational reflex save from Marco Carnesecchi.

That miss proved costly. Six minutes later, Nicola Zalewski burst through the center and curled a superb right-footed effort into the far corner, a goal of real quality that effectively ended the contest.

ATALANTA even finished the match with ten men after Raspadori picked up an injury with substitutions exhausted, but the Dea never looked in danger as they closed out a comprehensive victory.
