Fagioli opens the scoring with a brilliant solo run, Kean converts from the spot, and FIORENTINA survive a tense finale after Parisi’s own goal and two red cards.
Serie A Matchday 25 brought another crucial result in the relegation battle, as Fiorentina claimed a hard-fought 2-1 away win over Como at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
The Viola collected three precious points that temporarily pulled them level with Lecce on 21, while COMO were unable to build on their recent Coppa Italia heroics in Naples.
First Half: Fagioli Breaks the Deadlock
COMO looked heavy-legged after their midweek exertions, and FIORENTINA took advantage early. In the 26th minute, Nicolò Fagioli carved through the home defense with a dazzling slalom run, finishing at the near post past Butez with the help of some generous defending.
COMO tried to respond through Nico Paz, who tested his luck with efforts on both feet, but the home side’s attacks were rushed and lacked precision, never truly troubling David De Gea before halftime.
Second Half: Penalty, Own Goal, and Red Cards
The hosts failed to react after the break and were punished again when Perrone brought down Mandragora late in the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Moise Kean kept his composure to double FIORENTINA’s lead.
Cesc Fàbregas threw on Álvaro Morata in search of a spark, and COMO finally found a lifeline in the 77th minute. A dangerous cross from Rodriguez forced a clumsy intervention from Parisi, whose own goal made it 2-1 and reignited the contest.
The closing stages were chaotic. FIORENTINA head coach Paolo Vanoli was sent off in the 70th minute, and moments before stoppage time Morata received two yellow cards in quick succession, leaving COMO down to ten men. Despite the tension, the Viola held firm to see out the win.
