Roma are not standing still. Despite recent tensions and delays, the club is actively working to deliver an attacking reinforcement to Gian Piero Gasperini—and Giacomo Raspadori remains the primary target. In the last 48 hours, sporting director Frederic Massara has intensified talks, making a decisive move that could finally unlock the deal.
Roma’s key move: the salary increase
Roma already have a full agreement in place with Atletico Madrid:
- €2.5 million loan fee
- €19 million option to buy in June
- Bonuses and financial penalties if the option is not exercised
The remaining obstacle is the player. To overcome Raspadori’s hesitation, Roma have raised their wage offer to €4 million net per season, an increase of €500,000 compared to the previous proposal. From Roma’s perspective, this is the real turning point of the negotiation.
The goal is clear: eliminate doubts and make Roma the most convincing option, not only tactically but economically.
Why Raspadori is still thinking
