Parma 0-2 Inter: Dimarco Breaks the Deadlock, Thuram Seals It Late

Inter control the match at the Tardini as Dimarco strikes before the break and Thuram finishes the job in stoppage time on Matchday 19.

A composed and authoritative Inter secured a crucial 2-0 away win over Parma, strengthening their grip on the top of the Serie A table just four days before the heavyweight clash at San Siro.

In their first away match of 2026, the Nerazzurri dictated the tempo from start to finish, finding the breakthrough through Federico Dimarco late in the first half before Marcus Thuram put the result beyond doubt deep into stoppage time.

Inter immediately took control of possession and looked dangerous early on, with Lautaro Martínez testing Parma’s defense and Bisseck coming close from a set piece, his effort tipped onto the crossbar by Corvi. Parma briefly responded when Ondrejka’s sliding finish struck the outside of the post, but it proved to be a rare moment of threat from the hosts.

As halftime approached, Inter’s pressure finally paid off. After Pio Esposito had rattled the crossbar moments earlier, the young forward turned provider, laying the ball off perfectly for Dimarco, who whipped a precise finish inside the near post. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR overturned the decision, confirming Inter’s deserved lead.

The second half followed the same pattern, with Inter patiently managing the game while searching for a second goal. Esposito again went close from inside the box, while Sucic missed a golden chance when clean through on goal. Parma struggled to ignite their midfield, with Bernabé never truly finding his rhythm.

In the dying moments, Inter finally doubled their advantage. After a disallowed Parma goal for handball in the buildup, Thuram burst forward and calmly finished to make it 2-0, crowning a solid team performance.

The victory allows Inter to consolidate first place in the standings and head into the upcoming showdown with renewed confidence, while Parma are left to reflect on a disciplined but ultimately toothless display.
