A dramatic finish at the Stadio Olimpico saw Lazio and Fiorentina share the points in a hard-fought 2-2 draw, decided by two penalties deep in the closing minutes.
After goals from Danilo Cataldi and Robin Gosens had set the score level midway through the second half, the match appeared destined to end without a winner. Instead, controversy and tension took center stage late on, as Gudmundsson and Pedro both converted from the spot to seal an eventful stalemate.
The contest was balanced overall, with Lazio slightly more proactive, especially in the early stages. The first half was played at a good tempo, featuring a few heated moments and an early penalty appeal for the Biancocelesti when Gila went down under pressure from Pongracic—waved away by the referee.
Lazio broke the deadlock seven minutes after the restart. A neat exchange between Cataldi and Vecino—who had replaced the injured Basic—opened up space on the edge of the area, allowing Cataldi to fire past De Gea and spark celebrations among the home fans.

When it looked like Fiorentina had snatched all three points, Lazio were given a lifeline of their own. Deep into stoppage time, Zaccagni was brought down in the area, and Pedro calmly dispatched the resulting penalty in the 95th minute to make it 2-2 and deny the Viola a late victory.
