After two straight losses, Inter return to winning form thanks to Lautaro Martinez. Pisa impresses with courage, but wastefulness — especially from Nzola — proves costly.
Inter eased pressure and snapped a two-match losing streak with a hard-fought 2–0 win at Pisa, powered by a decisive second-half brace from captain Lautaro Martinez. The Nerazzurri were far from dominant, and Pisa produced long stretches of quality and intensity, but Chivu’s substitutions — especially Pio Esposito and Zielinski — turned the match.
The first half was tight and physical, with few clear chances. Pisa produced the best one: Piccinini, played in by Touré, fired just wide with Sommer beaten. Lautaro tried a difficult first-time strike at the other end, but it sailed high.
At halftime, Chivu reacted by introducing Zielinski for Sucic, seeking more control and verticality. Pisa came out strong again, with Touré threatening in transition and Piccinini testing the Inter back line. Then came a huge moment: Nzola broke free in a one-on-one against Acerbi but wasted a golden chance by dragging his shot wide.
Inter punished that miss twenty minutes from time. Pio Esposito, lively off the bench, attacked the right flank and delivered a sharp pass into the box for Lautaro, who fired a left-footed rocket under the crossbar for 1–0.
The goal cracked the match open. On 81’, Barella whipped in a cross and Lautaro, perfectly positioned, converted the tap-in for his brace. The Argentine hit the post minutes later, narrowly missing a hat-trick.
Pisa fought bravely throughout — with Touré outstanding and Piccinini dangerous — but Inter’s efficiency in the key moments proved the difference.
