Lecce 2–1 Torino: Berisha Dazzles, Banda Breaks His Drought, and Falcone Saves the Day

Two early punches from Coulibaly and Banda lift Lecce before Adams pulls one back; Falcone’s late penalty stop on Asllani secures a huge home win.

Lecce earned a crucial 2–1 victory over Torino at the Via del Mare, powered by a brilliant display from Medon Berisha and a decisive late save from Wladimiro Falcone. The Giallorossi struck twice in two minutes midway through the first half, then survived a second-half surge from Torino — capped by a missed penalty that could have rewritten the story.

Torino actually created the first big chance: after 15 minutes, Che Adams’ header tested Falcone, but the Lecce keeper saved comfortably. Then came the decisive swing. Berisha delivered a perfect corner on 20’, and Coulibaly rose above everyone to head in the opener — with Maripán unable to clear off the line. Just two minutes later, Lecce doubled their lead. Berisha again provided the spark, threading a well-timed pass for Banda, who finally ended his two-year scoring drought.

Torino reacted near the break, striking the post through Nkounkou before Zapata forced a spectacular save from Falcone. The visitors re-opened the contest early in the second half when Adams turned and fired from the edge of the box, helped by a deflection off Gabriel.

The Granata pushed for the equalizer and, in the dying minutes, earned a penalty after Tete Morente clipped Coco in the box. Asllani stepped up — but his weak shot was easily stopped and held by a heroic Falcone, sealing Lecce’s victory.

Lecce climb with confidence after a performance filled with grit and flair, while Torino rue costly lapses and a missed chance from the spot.
