Pisa 0-0 Lazio: Sarri’s men frustrated as Gilardino’s side earn another valuable point

No goals at the Arena Garibaldi, where Pisa hold Lazio to a hard-fought draw. The Biancocelesti hit the post through Basic but can’t find a breakthrough, while the newly promoted hosts continue their positive run of results.

Pisa’s return to Serie A continues to show promise, as Alberto Gilardino’s men held Lazio to a 0-0 draw on Matchday 9. It was the third straight draw for the Nerazzurri, who combined intensity, organization, and a bit of luck to claim another precious point in their battle for survival.

Lazio started slowly, struggling to find rhythm in the wet conditions. Pisa were the first to threaten when Tramoni pounced on a poor clearance from Provedel but scuffed his shot wide. The Biancocelesti eventually grew into the game, with Isaksen forcing Semper into a strong save before Basic’s curling effort struck the post late in the first half.

After the break, Pisa regained control. The home side’s compact 3-4-2-1 limited Lazio’s possession play and created danger from set pieces. In the 73rd minute, Moreo’s header from a Leris corner was parried brilliantly by Provedel, and four minutes later Touré went inches wide with another header.

Lazio, less incisive in the second half, failed to produce clear chances despite the introduction of Pedro and Lazzari. Gilardino’s men held firm through the final whistle, extending their unbeaten run to three matches and showing the resilience of a side adapting well to top-flight life.

For Lazio, it’s a missed opportunity to climb the table, though Sarri’s team remain within touching distance of the European places.
