Como’s remarkable rise continues with a statement win over Juventus, as Nico Paz delivers another dazzling performance to lead the Larians into dreamland.
Como’s impressive Serie A campaign reached another high point with a 2–0 home victory over Juventus, a result that deepened the Bianconeri’s struggles and showcased the growing ambition of Cesc Fàbregas’s team.
The match at the Sinigaglia began at full throttle. Just four minutes in, Nico Paz — already a revelation this season — delivered a superb cross to the far post for Robin Kempf, who finished from close range to give Como an early lead.
Juventus, immediately on the back foot, tried to respond with Yildiz and Conceição driving their attack, but despite long spells of possession, precision deserted them in the final third. Yildiz came closest with a curling effort that missed by inches, while at the other end, former Juve striker Álvaro Morata forced Di Gregorio into two important saves.
A disallowed goal for Jonathan David moments later summed up Juventus’s frustrations. Even after the break, Igor Tudor’s men continued to push forward, but Como stayed compact and disciplined, waiting for the perfect moment to strike again.
That moment arrived in the 79th minute. Paz, cutting in from the right, left Cambiaso standing before unleashing a beautiful curling shot past Di Gregorio to seal the win — another moment of brilliance from the young Argentine playmaker.
Juventus’s attacking reshuffle, which saw Dusan Vlahovic come on late, offered little improvement. The Bianconeri’s winless streak continues, while Como, now level with their opponents in the standings, look increasingly like a team ready to challenge the Serie A elite.
