A sixth-minute goal from French striker Elhadj Bonny is enough for Inter to beat Roma at the Olimpico and climb — at least for one night — to the top of Serie A alongside Napoli and the Giallorossi.
Inter left the Stadio Olimpico with all three points after a disciplined performance and an early goal that stunned Roma. Chivu’s men secured their fourth consecutive win in Serie A and proved once again their growing maturity and balance.
The decisive moment came just six minutes in: Nicolò Barella split the Roma defense with a perfectly timed through ball, while Ndicka’s failed offside trap left Bonny free to charge into space. The Frenchman kept his cool and slotted past Svilar at the near post to give Inter the lead.
Galvanized by the opener, Inter controlled much of the first half, dictating the tempo and suffocating Roma’s build-up play. Gasperini’s side improved after the break, creating a few dangerous chances through Dybala — whose curling free kick forced Sommer into a key save — and Celik, who went close from the right. The biggest miss, though, came from Dovbyk, who somehow headed over an empty net after a rare mistake from the Inter goalkeeper.
In the closing stages, Inter managed the game expertly, holding off Roma’s late push and nearly doubling their lead through Mkhitaryan. The Nerazzurri’s resilience earned them three crucial points and, at least temporarily, a share of the Serie A summit.
