Bologna earned their first win of the Serie A season with a narrow 1-0 victory over Como at the Stadio Dall’Ara. Riccardo Orsolini delivered the game’s only goal in the second half, assisted by Castro, to seal all three points for Vincenzo Italiano’s side.
The home team produced a disciplined performance, limiting Como’s attacking moves. Fabregas’ side, fresh off a surprising opening win over Lazio, pushed forward at times but lacked the cutting edge to break through Bologna’s defense.
In the first half, Como suffered a setback when Van Der Brempt was forced off injured and replaced by Smolcic. Nico Paz had a shot from distance that failed to trouble Skorupski, while Orsolini came closest for Bologna at the 31st minute, denied by goalkeeper Butez.
The decisive moment came just past the hour mark. With his back to goal, Castro laid the ball off for Orsolini, who struck left-footed from the edge of the area. The shot took a deflection and found its way past Butez for the 1-0 lead. Orsolini celebrated by “knocking” at the camera, marking a historic personal milestone: he overtook Marco Di Vaio in Bologna’s all-time scoring charts, now trailing only Beppe Signori.
The remainder of the match became fragmented, with fouls and yellow cards breaking the rhythm. Still, Bologna held on for their first win of the campaign, moving up to three points after their opening loss to Roma. Como also remain on three points but recorded their first defeat under Fabregas.
