Runjaic’s side bounce back on Matchday 35 with a solid performance, ending Torino’s positive streak
Udinese returned to winning ways in convincing fashion, defeating Torino 2-0 at home and snapping a brief winless run in Serie A. The Friulians delivered a composed and efficient display, with goals from Kingsley Ehizibue and Jaka Bijol Kristensen proving decisive.
The hosts thought they had taken the lead midway through the first half when Nicolò Zaniolo found the net after a rebound from Buksa’s shot off the post. However, the goal was disallowed following a VAR review for offside, denying the Italian forward what would have been his sixth league goal of the season.
Udinese stayed patient and were rewarded deep into first-half stoppage time. Ehizibue timed his run perfectly to meet a precise pass from Ekkelenkamp, calmly finishing to make it 1-0.
The second goal arrived early in the second half and effectively killed the game. From a corner delivered by Miller, Kristensen rose highest to power home a header in the 54th minute, doubling Udinese’s advantage.
Torino struggled to respond. Giovanni Simeone failed to make an impact up front, while goalkeeper Paleari was caught out on the second goal. Defensive lapses, particularly from Obrador on the opener, further complicated matters for the visitors.
Udinese controlled the remainder of the match with relative ease, securing three important points, while Torino’s run of four consecutive positive results came to an end.
