Milan 0-0 Juventus: Stalemate at San Siro leaves Champions League race wide open

Saelemaekers hits the crossbar, Juventus see goal ruled out as both sides settle for a tense draw on Matchday 34

Milan and Juventus played out a cautious 0-0 draw at San Siro in one of the most anticipated clashes of Matchday 34, a result that leaves the race for Champions League qualification finely balanced.

Neither side managed to find the breakthrough in a match defined more by tactical discipline than attacking brilliance, with both teams prioritizing defensive solidity over risk-taking.

Juventus thought they had taken the lead in the first half through Khéphren Thuram, finishing off a well-worked move initiated by Francisco Conceição. However, after a VAR review, the goal was ruled out for offside, denying the visitors what had been their most dangerous moment of the game.

The Bianconeri continued to threaten mainly through Conceição, who consistently caused problems down the right flank, especially against Bartesaghi. Milan, meanwhile, struggled to create clear chances in the opening period, with Christian Pulisic largely ineffective and isolated in attack.

The Rossoneri came out with more intent after the break and nearly broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute. A clever play from Rafael Leão freed Alexis Saelemaekers, whose powerful effort rattled the crossbar—Milan’s best opportunity of the match.

Despite a flurry of substitutions late on, including the introductions of Kenan Yildiz and Dušan Vlahović for Juventus, neither side managed to shift the balance. Chances remained scarce, and both defenses held firm to preserve the clean sheets.

The draw sees Milan lose ground to Napoli, now two points ahead, but they maintain a three-point cushion over Juventus. The Bianconeri, in turn, stay just ahead of the chasing pack that includes Como and Roma, keeping everything to play for in the final stretch of the season.
