Bologna secure back-to-back victories at the Dall’Ara, while Lecce remain stuck in the relegation zone after another defeat on Matchday 32.
Bologna continued their strong run of form with a solid 2-0 win over Lecce, strengthening their hold on eighth place in Serie A. Goals from Remo Freuler and Riccardo Orsolini ensured all three points for Vincenzo Italiano’s side, while Lecce’s survival hopes took another hit with a fourth consecutive loss.
The match began with Lecce showing urgency, fully aware of the stakes. Nikola Stulić had a golden opportunity early on, breaking through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but his miss proved costly.
Bologna gradually took control of the game, and their growing dominance paid off in the 26th minute. After a defensive lapse from Lecce, Orsolini’s initial attempt struck the crossbar, but Freuler reacted quickest to tap in the rebound from close range.
From that point on, Bologna dictated the tempo. Orsolini remained the most dangerous player on the pitch, repeatedly testing the Lecce defense and goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone, who kept the visitors in the game with several saves.
In the second half, Lecce tried to stay compact and look for counterattacks, but Bologna’s superior quality and organization limited their chances. The home side controlled possession and created further opportunities, with Orsolini again going close shortly after the hour mark.
The game was finally put to bed in stoppage time. Orsolini, rewarded for his persistence, found the back of the net with a precise right-footed finish to make it 2-0 and seal the victory.
With this result, Bologna climbs to 48 points, reinforcing their push for a top-half finish. Lecce, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone alongside Cremonese, with time running out to turn their season around.
