Roma 3-0 Pisa: Malen’s Hat-Trick Powers Giallorossi Back on Track

Roma bounce back from San Siro setback with a dominant win at the Olimpico, as Malen delivers a clinical hat-trick against a struggling Pisa side.

Roma responded in emphatic fashion after their heavy defeat at San Siro, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Pisa at the Stadio Olimpico. The night belonged entirely to Donyell Malen, who netted the first hat-trick of his career and led the Giallorossi to a much-needed three points in Serie A Matchday 32.

The hosts wasted no time asserting control. Just three minutes in, a costly lapse from Caracciolo allowed Malen to break through on goal and calmly slot past Semper. It was the perfect start for Roma, who looked sharp and determined from the opening whistle.

Pisa’s only real chance of the first half came through Tramoni, but Mile Svilar produced a crucial save to deny the equalizer. Moments later, Roma nearly doubled their lead when Lorenzo Pellegrini struck the crossbar with a well-taken free kick, a sign of the mounting pressure on the visitors.

The second goal arrived just before halftime and felt inevitable. After a sustained attacking sequence, Malen was in the right place at the right time to tap home from close range, punishing another defensive lapse—this time involving Touré.

Roma suffered a potential setback as Pellegrini was forced off with a muscle injury before the break, leaving his condition to be assessed in the coming days.

Early in the second half, Pisa had a golden opportunity to get back into the match, but Højlholt fired straight at Svilar. That miss proved costly. Shortly after, Matías Soulé threaded a precise through ball to Malen, who completed his hat-trick with a composed low finish—his tenth league goal in under three months.

From that point on, it was all about game management for Roma. Head coach Gian Piero Gasperini rotated his squad and was rewarded with a standing ovation for both Soulé and Malen, the undisputed man of the match.

With this victory, Roma temporarily draws level with Juventus and moves within one point of Como, keeping their push for European qualification very much alive. Pisa, meanwhile, looks increasingly destined for relegation back to Serie B.
