Udinese deliver a flawless performance in Milan, handing Allegri’s side a heavy defeat and deepening their attacking crisis on Matchday 32.
AC Milan’s troubling run continued with a shocking 3-0 home defeat to Udinese at San Siro, their third loss in the last four Serie A matches. What was expected to be a tactical adjustment turned into a complete breakdown, as Massimiliano Allegri’s switch to a 4-3-3 exposed major structural flaws and failed to revive a struggling attack.
Udinese, on the other hand, executed a near-perfect game plan. Organized, clinical, and dangerous in transition, the visitors dominated from start to finish, with Nicolò Zaniolo orchestrating the attack despite not getting on the scoresheet.
The breakthrough came midway through the first half when Arthur Atta’s initiative led to a deflection off Bartesaghi, resulting in an own goal that put Udinese ahead. Milan looked disjointed and vulnerable, and the second goal followed soon after. Zaniolo delivered a superb cross into the box, perfectly picked out for Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, who made no mistake in doubling the lead.
Milan’s response was timid and ineffective. Rafael Leão, clearly struggling both physically and mentally, was met with loud boos from the San Siro crowd when substituted. Christian Pulisic tried to make things happen individually but lacked precision in the final third, while Niclas Füllkrug—introduced at halftime—failed to provide the presence Milan desperately needed.
In the second half, Udinese remained in control, comfortably absorbing Milan’s limited pressure. The game was put beyond doubt in the 71st minute when Atta capped off a brilliant performance with a composed finish, sealing a deserved 3-0 victory.
Defensively, Udinese were just as impressive. Oumar Solet dominated at the back, while goalkeeper Maduka Okoye made key saves to preserve the clean sheet whenever called upon.
For Milan, the defeat raises serious concerns. What once looked like a solid push for a Champions League spot has now turned into a tense battle, with confidence clearly shaken and solutions hard to find. Allegri’s side can no longer afford slip-ups in the final stretch of the season.
