Boga finishes off a smart move with Yildiz to secure a crucial away victory as Juventus climb back into fourth place on Serie A Matchday 29.
Juventus secured a valuable 1–0 win over Udinese at the Bluenergy Stadium, earning three crucial points in the race for Champions League qualification.
The narrow victory allows the Bianconeri to temporarily climb back into fourth place in the Serie A standings while extending their advantage over Atalanta. With other rivals still to play, Luciano Spalletti’s side strengthened their position with a disciplined and efficient performance.
From the opening minutes, the tactical setup was clear. Juventus controlled possession and attempted to dictate the pace of the game, while Udinese defended compactly and looked to strike on the counterattack.
The Friulian side’s plan worked effectively for the first half hour. Juventus struggled to break down the defensive block, especially with Kenan Yildiz deployed as a false nine—a role that limited the Turkish attacker’s ability to express himself against Udinese’s physical center-backs.
The turning point came when Spalletti made a subtle tactical adjustment, swapping the positions of Yildiz and Jeremie Boga. The move immediately proved decisive.
In the 38th minute, the two combined to produce the winning goal. Lloyd Kelly launched a long pass from the back that Yildiz controlled perfectly on the left flank. The forward then delivered a precise pass across the box for Boga, who calmly finished into an empty net to give Juventus the lead.
Udinese had their best chance early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp found himself in a promising position but failed to capitalize on the opportunity to equalize.
After surviving that moment, Juventus regained control of the match and continued to manage possession. In the 70th minute Francisco Conceição appeared to double the lead, but the goal was ruled out for offside against Teun Koopmeiners in the buildup.
The final minutes passed without major threats, allowing Juventus to secure their second consecutive Serie A victory and take another important step toward returning to Europe’s top competition.
