Rossoneri looking for a true No. 9, with Guirassy and Vlahović also on the radar
AC Milan are already planning their next move in the transfer market, and strengthening the attack appears to be a top priority.
Head coach Massimiliano Allegri wants a traditional center-forward capable of combining pace, physical strength, and penalty-area presence — a profile that the club believes fits Moise Kean.
The striker, currently playing for ACF Fiorentina, has become Milan’s primary target as they prepare for the next transfer window.
Milan Searching for More Goals
Despite boasting the best defense in Serie A, Milan’s attack has lacked a consistent goal-scoring presence.
So far this season, winger Rafael Leão leads the team’s scoring chart with nine goals, highlighting the absence of a dominant central striker.
Behind him, Christian Pulisic has eight goals, but Milan’s traditional forwards have struggled to deliver.
- Christopher Nkunku – 5 goals
- Niclas Füllkrug – 1 goal
- Santiago Giménez – yet to score since returning
Allegri has often relied on the pace of Leão and Pulisic on counterattacks, but neither player provides the physical presence in the box that the coach would like to build his attack around.
Why Kean Fits Allegri’s Vision
Kean’s combination of speed and strength makes him an attractive option for Milan’s tactical setup.
The Italian striker previously worked under Allegri during his time at Juventus, making 102 appearances across three seasons.
Although his goal tally during that period was modest, Allegri reportedly maintained strong faith in the player’s potential.
Since moving to Fiorentina, Kean has become a regular starter and a more mature forward, earning renewed attention from the Italian national team under Gennaro Gattuso.
This season he has scored eight goals in 24 Serie A matches — a solid but not spectacular return.
The Strategy: Pay Less Than the Clause
Kean’s contract includes a release clause worth €62 million, but Milan believe the actual transfer fee could be significantly lower.
The clause is only active during the first two weeks of July, and Fiorentina may be open to negotiating a reduced price given the striker’s inconsistent season.
Milan already explored a move for Kean in previous transfer windows and are expected to reopen discussions in the coming months.
Financially, the deal would also require accommodating the striker’s current salary, estimated at around €4.5 million per year.
One intriguing factor: Kean has a strong personal relationship with Leão, with the two having collaborated musically outside of football.
Alternative Options: Guirassy and Vlahović
Kean is currently Milan’s top choice, but the club is also monitoring other potential targets.
One long-standing option is Serhou Guirassy, who is enjoying another productive season in the Bundesliga with 12 goals in 24 matches.
Meanwhile, Milan are keeping a close eye on developments involving Dušan Vlahović at Juventus.
Negotiations over a contract extension between the Serbian striker and Juventus have recently resumed, but if talks collapse again, Milan could attempt to enter the race.
In any of those scenarios, Allegri’s influence could play a decisive role.
The coach knows exactly what type of striker he wants — and Milan’s next transfer window may revolve around finding the right No. 9 to lead their attack.
