Parma earn a valuable point on the road while Fiorentina’s attacking struggles continue in a tense Matchday 28 clash.
ACF Fiorentina and Parma Calcio 1913 played out a goalless draw at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in a tense Matchday 28 encounter in Serie A.
While Parma left Florence satisfied with another step toward safety, Fiorentina were greeted by whistles from their supporters after another frustrating afternoon in a difficult season.
Parma Compact, Fiorentina Without Ideas
From the opening minutes the pattern of the match was clear. Fiorentina tried to control possession and dictate play, while Parma stayed compact defensively, waiting for opportunities to counter.
Without Moise Kean leading the line, Fiorentina struggled to create meaningful chances. Parma goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi had a relatively quiet afternoon, just as David De Gea did at the opposite end.
The Viola’s biggest problem was breaking through Parma’s defensive block. Ranieri and his teammates frequently found themselves confronted by a dense wall of yellow shirts in the final third, with few players capable of beating their man.
Parma Come Closest
Despite defending for long stretches, Parma nearly grabbed the lead before halftime.
Keita tested De Gea with a powerful strike from distance that narrowly missed the target — the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock in the first 45 minutes.
Fabio Pecchia’s team also attempted to exploit the flanks through Sorensen and Cremaschi, though striker Pellegrino was tightly marked by Pongracic.
Frustration at the Franchi
Fiorentina coach Vanoli attempted tactical adjustments after the break, pushing Fagioli further forward and reshaping the midfield. However, the changes had little impact on the flow of the match.
Both sides made several substitutions in the second half, but clear chances remained rare. Fiorentina pushed slightly more in the final minutes, earning a couple of corners, yet failed to create real danger.
At the final whistle, the home crowd voiced its frustration.
The draw keeps Fiorentina just above the relegation zone, while Parma move another step closer to securing their Serie A status.
