INTER 1-2 BODO/GLIMT: Nerazzurri Crash Out of Europe as Hauge Shines Again

European nightmare completed for Inter Milan, who were beaten 2-1 at San Siro by FK Bodø/Glimt and eliminated from the Champions League.

After the 3-1 defeat in Norway, Inter needed a miracle. Instead, they delivered another collapse. Once again, Jens Petter Hauge proved decisive, while the Nerazzurri’s big names failed to respond.

First Half: Total Control, No Goals

Without Calhanoglu and Lautaro, coach Chivu relied on Zielinski in midfield and Pio Esposito alongside Thuram.

The opening 45 minutes were a complete Inter monologue:

  • Over 60% possession
  • 13 shots to 0
  • 7 corners to none

Yet for all their dominance, clear chances were limited. Frattesi’s header and Dimarco’s strike were well saved by Haikin, but the breakthrough never came.

Bodø/Glimt remained compact, patient, and ruthless in waiting for their moment.

Akanji’s Error Changes Everything

The turning point arrived early in the second half.

A disastrous giveaway from Manuel Akanji gifted possession to Blomberg on the edge of the box. Sommer made a first save, but Hauge pounced on the rebound to silence San Siro.

Inter suddenly needed three goals just to force extra time.

Ironically, Akanji nearly redeemed himself moments later, but his powerful strike hit the post.

Evjen Ends It

As Inter grew frantic and disorganized, Bodø/Glimt struck again in the 72nd minute.

Hauge delivered a sublime assist, and Håkon Evjen controlled brilliantly before finishing across goal for 0-2.

At that point, qualification required four Inter goals.

Only one arrived: Alessandro Bastoni scored in the 77th minute, confirmed by goal-line technology, but it was far too late.

The final whistle confirmed a historic achievement for Bodø/Glimt—and a humiliating European exit for Inter.
