Como 0–0 Atalanta: Ten-Man Dea Hold Firm as Carnesecchi Denies Nico Paz at the Death

Atalanta survive for over 80 minutes with a man down, Carnesecchi and Scalvini stand tall, and Nico Paz misses a last-gasp penalty for Como.

Como and Atalanta played out a dramatic goalless draw in Serie A, a result defined by Atalanta’s resilience and a missed penalty in the final seconds. Reduced to ten men after just seven minutes, Raffaele Palladino’s side escaped the Sinigaglia with what felt like a “platinum point,” thanks largely to an outstanding Marco Carnesecchi.

The match took a decisive turn almost immediately. In the 7th minute, Ahanor was shown a straight red card for striking Perrone off the ball following a tussle that began inside Como’s penalty area. From that moment on, the game became attack versus defense.

Como pressed relentlessly, especially in the first half, firing shots from all angles. Carnesecchi was unbeatable, responding sharply to every attempt and benefiting from crucial blocks by his defenders. Giorgio Scalvini, in particular, was immense, repeatedly throwing himself in front of shots and producing a vital intervention on Perrone before the break.

Despite their numerical advantage, Como struggled with precision. Douvikas squandered a huge chance in the 59th minute, missing an open goal, while the hosts’ shot volume dropped noticeably after halftime. Atalanta, for their part, were disciplined and selective, occasionally breaking forward without ever overcommitting.

The defining moment arrived deep into stoppage time. At 96 minutes, Como were awarded a penalty, handing Nico Paz a chance at redemption after previous misses from the spot. Instead, the former Real Madrid man was denied once again, with Carnesecchi guessing correctly and parrying the effort to preserve the 0–0.

It was a bitter outcome for Como, who dominated territorially but failed to capitalize. For Atalanta, however, it was a statement of character—holding a clean sheet away to one of the league’s in-form sides despite playing almost the entire match a man short.
