Swiss midfielder joins Vincenzo Italiano’s squad with an option for a permanent move
Bologna have officially completed the signing of Simon Sohm, confirming the arrival of the Swiss midfielder from Fiorentina. The 24-year-old joins the Rossoblù on a season-long loan running through June 30, 2026, with an option to make the transfer permanent.
The deal was announced through Bologna’s official channels, formalizing a move that had been in the works for several days. Although the paperwork was finalized today, Sohm had already begun integrating into his new environment, taking part in his first training session under head coach Vincenzo Italiano earlier this week.
For Fiorentina, the transfer represents another outgoing move in this January window, following previous adjustments to the squad. For Bologna, it is a targeted addition aimed at reinforcing the midfield with a player who combines physical presence and Serie A experience.
While the agreement does not guarantee a long-term stay, the option included in the deal gives Bologna flexibility. Should Sohm convince Italiano and fit seamlessly into the team’s structure, the club will have the opportunity to secure his services beyond the current season.
