The decisive moment came in the final quarter of the match, when an own goal by Nelsson—forced by the impact of substitute Manuel Lazzari—handed Maurizio Sarri three precious points.

The visitors started with intent, going close early through Isaksen and Noslin, the latter failing to convert a rebound from close range.
