Allegri urges realism: “Milan need precision. You can’t go on with the same eleven forever”

Rossoneri coach after Florence draw: “We’ve changed 55% of the squad, patience is needed”

Massimiliano Allegri calls for calm, balance and a sharper edge in front of goal. After Milan’s dramatic draw away at Fiorentina, rescued late once again, the Rossoneri coach acknowledged both the positives and the clear limits of his team, warning that relying on last-gasp endings is not a sustainable habit.

“We can’t waste what we create”

Speaking after the match, Massimiliano Allegri was clear:
“We had chances in the first half and didn’t take them. You can’t expect to create 100 opportunities in football — you have to be precise with the ones you get. For a long time we were clinical, now we’re less so, and that’s something we must improve.”

Allegri also pointed to game management as a key issue:
“After making it 1–1, there were still seven minutes to play. That’s a lot of time. In those moments you must move the ball better near the opponent’s box. Instead, we rushed things — the same mistake we made against Genoa.”

Turnover and squad depth

The Milan coach defended his rotations, stressing that physical management is unavoidable:
“We spent a lot of energy in the first half. Some players needed rest, others needed minutes. You can’t go on all season with just eleven players — you need everyone.”

He also highlighted individual performances, backing players still adapting to Serie A:
“Jashari did well, he has quality and just needs time to understand Italian football. Füllkrug gave us two assists — when you get him into the box, he becomes very dangerous.”

Perspective over pressure

Despite back-to-back draws, Allegri urged against panic:
“We’re second in the table, and that’s still a good position. We must keep going on our path. There are still 34–36 points needed to reach the Champions League. Let’s go step by step.”

On Rafael Leão, Allegri added:
“He’s not at his best yet, but we’re recovering players and that makes me happy.”

And on the bigger picture, the message was unmistakable:
“Let’s not lose sight of reality. We’ve changed 55% of this squad. That takes time. What we need now is calm and patience.”

Milan continue to search for consistency. Allegri’s message from Florence is clear: improvement will come through precision, rotation — and a realistic view of where this Rossoneri side truly stands.
