The Danish striker delivers an assist and a goal in Riyadh as Napoli brush aside Milan and book their place in the Italian Supercoppa final.
Napoli are the first team through to the 2025 Italian Supercoppa final, dispatching Milan 2–0 in Riyadh with a commanding, mature performance built around an outstanding Rasmus Højlund. The reigning Serie A champions struck once in each half, controlled the rhythm of the match, and never truly allowed Milan to recover from the opening blow.
Antonio Conte’s side will now face the winner of Bologna vs Inter in Monday’s final, with a chance to lift the first trophy of the season.
Napoli started aggressively and were rewarded midway through the first half. Milan actually fashioned the first real opportunity through Nkunku, but the Rossoneri failed to capitalize — a mistake they paid for moments later. Højlund tore down the left channel, powering past his marker before squaring across goal. Mike Maignan couldn’t intervene, and David Neres arrived at the far post to tap in from close range.
The second half followed a similar script. Milan needed a reaction but instead found themselves undone again by Napoli’s vertical play. Spinazzola released Højlund in transition, and the Danish striker shrugged off De Winter before smashing a left-footed finish beyond Maignan. At 2–0, the contest was effectively over.
From there, Napoli managed the game with confidence, shutting down Milan’s attacking lanes and preserving energy ahead of the final. Milan, by contrast, looked short on ideas and incision, once again struggling to turn possession into genuine danger.
