Como–Cagliari 0–0: Caprile Shines, Morata’s Drought Continues

Fabregas’ Como extends its unbeaten run to nine matches and draws level with Juventus and Bologna in the table, while Pisacane’s Cagliari still can’t find a win.

A tense but goalless draw at the Sinigallia Stadium between Como and Cagliari keeps both sides’ runs alive — positive for the hosts, frustrating for the visitors. Cesc Fabregas’ team, unbeaten in nine, once again showed good structure and personality, but were denied by an inspired Elia Caprile, who confirmed his fine form with several key saves.

The first half offered few clear chances. Cagliari thought they had gone behind when Valle deflected into his own net, but VAR intervened to annul the goal for a prior foul by Palestra. Como’s flashes came from Addai and Nico Paz, whose powerful strike was pushed away by Caprile.

After the break, the match opened up. Morata had the game’s best opportunity, but from two yards out he fired straight at Caprile, prolonging a personal drought now at eleven Serie A matches without scoring. The Spaniard’s growing frustration led to a confrontation with Yerry Mina before he was replaced by Douvikas.

Cagliari threatened sporadically through Felici and Luvumbo, but Butez preserved the clean sheet for Como with two decisive late saves. A stalemate that leaves Fabregas satisfied for solidity and continuity, while Pisacane’s men, still winless in seven, must wonder what more they can do to find a breakthrough.
