Plenty of chances but no goals at the Arena Garibaldi, with three goals ruled out and late drama from Cuadrado and Kean.
The Tuscan derby between Pisa and Fiorentina ended in a goalless draw, but it was far from a dull encounter. Both teams created several clear-cut chances, with the woodwork and VAR playing a decisive role in keeping the scoreline level.
Pisa started brightly, with M’Bala Nzola twice coming close to breaking the deadlock — first heading narrowly wide and then rattling the crossbar with a powerful effort. Fiorentina responded through Moise Kean, who forced Semper into action just before halftime.
The second half brought even more drama. Leris had a chance for Pisa but couldn’t find the target from a tight angle. Three goals were disallowed over the course of the match: two by Kean for offside and a spectacular long-range strike by Meister, chalked off for handball in the buildup.
In the closing stages, Juan Cuadrado nearly won it for Pisa with a curling strike that hit the post, while Kean squandered the final opportunity by firing over from close range.
The result leaves both sides frustrated, with Fiorentina missing a chance to climb the table and Pisa continuing to search for their first home win of the season.
