Lecce rescues a point in thrilling fashion thanks to 17-year-old Camarda’s first Serie A goal, denying Bologna a last-minute victory.
Lecce snatched a crucial point at the death, drawing 2-2 with Bologna in a dramatic clash at the Stadio Via del Mare. Bologna looked set to leave with all three points until youngster Francesco Camarda rose highest in stoppage time to score his first-ever Serie A goal, sending the home crowd into raptures.
The match started at a frenetic pace with Lecce taking an early lead. A defensive blunder by Miranda gifted the ball to Mohamed Coulibaly, who made no mistake to put the hosts ahead in the 13th minute. Lecce nearly doubled their advantage when Tete Morente struck the crossbar, but Bologna struck back just before halftime.
Kouassi’s reckless foul on Dallinga handed Bologna a penalty, and Riccardo Orsolini calmly converted to level the score at 1-1 going into the break.
In the second half, Lecce hit the woodwork again through Coulibaly before Bologna substitute Jens Odgaard made an instant impact, capitalizing on a deflection to give the visitors a 2-1 lead in the 71st minute. Lecce pushed hard for an equalizer, with Pierotti also denied by the post in a dramatic finale.
Finally, deep into stoppage time, Camarda soared above everyone to head home the dramatic equalizer, earning Lecce their first home point of the season and leaving Bologna heartbroken.
