Juventus 1-1 Atalanta: Cabal Cancels Out Sulemana as Bianconeri Settle for Second Straight Draw

Sulemana’s first-half strike put Atalanta ahead, but Cabal came off the bench to secure a point for Juventus, who remain unbeaten in Serie A.

Juventus were held to a 1-1 home draw by Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium, recording their second consecutive stalemate in Serie A. Igor Tudor’s side stayed unbeaten but failed to take full advantage against a resilient Atalanta side, who played the final ten minutes with ten men following Marten De Roon’s red card.

The game started with a fast tempo, and Juventus almost grabbed the lead in the second minute when Malick Kalulu struck the post after a cross from Kenan Yildiz. Tudor opted for an aggressive lineup featuring Loïs Openda as the lone striker, supported by Yildiz and Adzic, pushing Atalanta deep into their half.

Despite Juve’s early dominance, it was Atalanta who struck first. In stoppage time of the first half, Adzic lost possession in midfield, allowing Sulemana to pounce. The Atalanta forward wrong-footed Federico Gatti with a clever feint before slotting a precise left-footed shot past Michele Di Gregorio to make it 1-0.

In the second half, Atalanta looked more dangerous and wasted two good chances through Nikola Krstovic. Tudor responded by introducing Dušan Vlahovic, but the Serbian striker couldn’t change the game’s momentum. Instead, Atalanta threatened again through Mario Pašalić and Raoul Bellanova.

Juventus finally broke through in the 78th minute. Cabal, who had just come on two minutes earlier, capitalized on a defensive error by Kossounou to smash home from close range and level the score at 1-1.

The match tilted further in Juve’s favor two minutes later when De Roon received a second yellow card, leaving Atalanta down to ten men. Despite heavy pressure in the closing stages, Juventus could not find a winner and were forced to settle for a draw.
