Sassuolo earned their first victory of the Serie A season with a 1-0 win over Lazio at the Mapei Stadium, ending a run of two consecutive defeats. Grosso’s side showed resilience and capitalized on their key moment to overcome a strong opponent, while Lazio missed the chance to climb into the upper part of the table.
The first half was fought with intensity but offered few clear chances. The best opportunity came in the 28th minute when Pinamonti forced Provedel into a save at the near post. Lazio suffered a setback when midfielder Rovella was forced off with a muscle injury, disrupting Sarri’s plans.
The match remained balanced until the 70th minute, when substitute Fadera made an immediate impact. From a corner, Muharemovic rose to head the ball toward goal, and Fadera redirected it past Provedel to give Sassuolo the lead.
