A dream debut for Cristian Chivu on the Inter bench, as his team storms past Torino with a resounding 5-0 victory at San Siro. The “ThuLa” strike partnership wasted no time: Thuram struck twice, Lautaro Martinez added his name to the scoresheet, while Bastoni and newcomer Bonny rounded off a dominant performance.
The opener came in the 18th minute when Bastoni rose above Simeone to head home Barella’s corner. Soon after, Thuram doubled the lead, set up by an impressive debutant Sucic, beating Israel at the far post. Torino’s defensive frailties then gifted Lautaro the third, the captain pouncing on a poor clearance.
The Frenchman struck again for 4-0 with a towering header from another Bastoni delivery, before Bonny, replacing Thuram, capitalized on yet another mistake at the back to seal the emphatic win.
For Torino, it was a night to forget: costly individual errors, a fragile defense, and little threat up front. Baroni’s side must bounce back quickly, while Inter looks every bit the contender with a sparkling start to the season.
