Bologna continued their impressive rise in both Serie A and Europe with a commanding 4–1 win over Salzburg at the Stadio Dall’Ara. With eight points now in their Europa League campaign, Thiago Motta’s side delivered a complete performance, overwhelming one of the continent’s most seasoned clubs.
The Rossoblù struck first through Odgaard, alert in front of goal and helped by a deflection off Gadou. Salzburg briefly responded with their lone bright moment of the night — Vertessen’s equalizer — but from that point forward Bologna took full control.
The second half showcased the team’s growing maturity and quality. Miranda slipped a perfectly weighted ball to Dallinga, who converted clinically to restore the lead at 51′. Just three minutes later, Bernardeschi — outstanding all evening — headed home Zortea’s pinpoint cross for a quick 3–1 advantage.
Salzburg never recovered. Bologna dominated possession, stretched the Austrian side on every attack, and Ravaglia produced key stops to deny both Vertessen and Ratkov. The final strike came in the 86th minute when Orsolini capped the performance with a composed finish to make it 4–1.
With three matches remaining, Bologna sit just two points from the automatic qualification spots. Their next test — a crucial trip to Celta Vigo — could determine whether they break into the top eight or head toward the playoff path. Regardless, momentum is firmly on their side.
