Another muscle injury sidelines Arkadiusz Milik for weeks, leaving Juventus short-handed in the Champions League race
Just when it looked like he had finally turned a corner, Arkadiusz Milik has been dealt another crushing blow.
The Juventus striker, who recently returned after an 18-month absence, is once again sidelined — this time with a muscle injury that will keep him out for at least 4–5 weeks. In practical terms, that means his season is over before it ever truly began.
A Comeback That Didn’t Last
Milik’s return had offered a glimmer of hope.
After months of rehabilitation, he made it back to the bench just before Easter and logged limited minutes in two appearances — including a brief cameo against Sassuolo where he nearly scored with a header. He followed that with another short outing versus Genoa.
But those appearances now feel like a false dawn.
Despite warming up in Juventus’ recent win in Bergamo, Milik never made it onto the field — and now the reason is clear: another physical setback has halted his progress yet again.
A Never-Ending Injury Cycle
The Polish forward’s struggles trace back to June 2024, when he suffered a serious meniscus injury.
Since then, it has been one setback after another:
- Entire 2024–25 season missed
- Just 34 total minutes played this season
- No goals since May 2024 — a drought stretching nearly two years
For a player who once offered depth and experience in attack, this has turned into a frustrating and seemingly endless ordeal.
Juventus Running Out of Options
The timing couldn’t be worse for Juventus and head coach Luciano Spalletti.
With a crucial stretch ahead in the race for Champions League qualification, the Bianconeri are now severely limited in attack:
- Dušan Vlahović remains unavailable
- Jonathan David is one of the few natural forwards left
- Jérémy Boga has been used as a makeshift false nine
- Loïs Openda is technically available but has fallen out of favor
It’s a patchwork solution at best — and far from ideal with decisive matches looming, starting with the upcoming clash against Bologna at the Allianz Stadium.
An Uncertain Future
At 32, Milik now faces serious questions about his future.
What was supposed to be a comeback season has instead turned into another chapter in a long injury saga. His inability to stay fit has not only impacted Juventus’ plans, but also cast doubt on his role moving forward.
For now, the focus is on recovery — again.
But with time running out and opportunities slipping away, Milik’s situation is becoming one of the most unfortunate stories of Juventus’ season.
