Serie A delivered a potential turning point in the title race as AC Milan suffered a damaging 1-0 home defeat to Parma Calcio 1913, allowing Inter Milan to move 10 points clear at the top.
At San Siro, Milan dominated possession but lacked cutting edge. Parma, disciplined and compact, struck late through defender Mariano Troilo, whose towering header sealed a famous win for the visitors.
First Half: Sterile Milan Control
Wearing a special all-red fourth kit inspired by the 2001/02 season, Milan started brightly but without precision. The Rossoneri nearly conceded early to Pellegrino before settling into territorial dominance.
However, their control produced little end product. Christian Pulisic wasted two promising chances, lacking composure in front of goal. Milan’s rhythm was disrupted further when Loftus-Cheek was stretchered off after a heavy collision.
Despite sustained pressure, Parma remained organized, with Keita dictating midfield balance and Troilo commanding the back line.
Second Half: The Post and the Decisive Blow
Milan’s clearest chance arrived in the 64th minute. After a recycled corner from Jashari, Rafael Leão struck a sharp half-volley that crashed against the post.
That proved the turning point.
In the 84th minute, Parma earned a corner. Troilo rose above Bartesaghi to power a header past Maignan. The goal was initially disallowed for a perceived foul, but after an on-field review, referee Piccinini awarded it.
Milan pushed desperately in the closing minutes, but even the introduction of Füllkrug failed to generate real danger. Parma held firm to secure a massive away victory.
