Lecce 0-0 Lazio: Stalemate at the Via del Mare as Sarri’s Side Stay Winless

Ramadani and Coulibaly dominate midfield for Lecce, while Lazio’s attack misfires again in a forgettable goalless draw.

Lecce and Lazio played out a drab 0-0 draw at the Via del Mare, a result that does little for either side but underlines the contrasting moods of their seasons. Lecce at least stop the bleeding after recent defeats and edge one point clear of the relegation zone, while Lazio’s crisis deepens as Maurizio Sarri’s team once again fail to find the net.

The first half told the story of the match. Lecce were sharper, more aggressive and far more willing to take responsibility in possession. Lazio, by contrast, looked flat and predictable, failing to register a single shot on target before the break. The hosts came close to breaking the deadlock twice: Coulibaly tested Provedel from distance, while Ramadani unleashed a thunderous long-range strike that smashed against the underside of the crossbar and bounced back into play, with the goal-line technology confirming the ball had not crossed the line.

Lazio showed a brief reaction early in the second half, when Falcone did well to deny Dia in a one-on-one situation, but it proved to be a false dawn. Substitutions altered the shape of both teams without changing the substance of a match that remained cagey and low on quality. The clearest opportunity after the interval was a long-range free kick from Sottil, comfortably dealt with by Provedel.

In the end, the clean sheets were the only positives. Lecce could at least point to the energy and balance provided by Ramadani and Coulibaly in midfield, while Lazio once again left the pitch with serious questions about their attacking identity and confidence.
