Pulisic wastes big chances, Fiorentina strike first through their 2005-born center-back, but Nkunku levels it at the death in a dramatic Matchday 20 draw at the Franchi.
A tense and eventful night at the Artemio Franchi ended all square as Fiorentina and Milan shared the points in a 1-1 draw that left both sides with mixed feelings. The Viola were moments away from a statement win thanks to a towering header from young Pietro Comuzzo, only to be denied by a late strike from Christopher Nkunku and a slice of luck in stoppage time.
Milan started brighter and will rue a wasteful first half. Christian Pulisic had three clear chances inside the opening 20 minutes: twice set up brilliantly by Fullkrug, the American forward failed to convert, first shooting wide after rounding De Gea and then firing weakly at the goalkeeper from close range. Fiorentina absorbed the pressure and relied on sporadic flashes from Gudmundsson, without truly troubling Maignan before the break.
The second half told a different story. Fiorentina raised the tempo, pushed Milan deeper, and took control of midfield. Allegri responded by introducing Leão and Rabiot, but moments later the breakthrough arrived: from a Gudmundsson corner, Comuzzo timed his run perfectly and powered a header past Maignan to give the hosts the lead in the 66th minute.
The Viola seemed in control, but Milan threw everything forward late on. Allegri’s final move paid off: Nkunku, introduced in the closing stages, latched onto a precise pass from Fofana and slotted home the equalizer exactly on 90 minutes. Deep into stoppage time, Fiorentina came agonizingly close to reclaiming victory—Brescianini smashed the crossbar, and Maignan then produced a decisive save to deny Kean on the rebound.
A draw that felt like a missed opportunity for Fiorentina, while Milan escaped Florence with a point they scarcely deserved after the interval.
