Bologna’s winless run stretches to four league matches as Sassuolo earn a solid draw at the Dall’Ara, with Muharemovic punishing a costly error to cancel out Fabbian’s opener.
Bologna were unable to close out 2025 with a much-needed victory, settling for a 1-1 draw against regional rivals Sassuolo in a frustrating derby. Still dealing with the aftershocks of their Supercoppa Italiana final defeat, Vincenzo Italiano’s side once again showed positive spells but lacked the sharpness required to secure all three points.
The first half was balanced and competitive. Bologna controlled possession and looked dangerous down the flanks, particularly through Zortea, while Sassuolo remained organized and threatening on the counter. The hosts came closest before the break when Idzes produced a crucial goal-line clearance to deny what looked like a certain opener.
The deadlock was finally broken moments after halftime. Bologna struck in the 47th minute with a well-executed transition: Zortea surged forward on the right and delivered a precise cross into the box, where Giovanni Fabbian arrived perfectly to finish and score his first league goal of the season.
Sassuolo did not panic and gradually grew back into the match. The visitors tested Ravaglia several times through Andrea Pinamonti, but the Bologna goalkeeper initially stood firm. However, in the 63rd minute, the turning point arrived. Ravaglia misjudged his خروج from goal on a set-piece situation, allowing defender Muharemovic to take advantage and score into an empty net for the equalizer.
From there, the match lost some rhythm but remained tense. Bologna pushed in search of a late winner, while Sassuolo defended compactly and were content to manage the result. Neither side managed to create a clear-cut chance in the closing stages, and the final whistle confirmed a draw that does little to lift Bologna’s spirits.
The result leaves Bologna stuck in a difficult stretch of form, while Sassuolo take home a valuable point that keeps them in the left side of the table, albeit still short of fully rejoining the European race.
