Lazio got back on track in Serie A with a convincing 2–0 victory over Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico, a result that puts Maurizio Sarri’s men back in the hunt for European positions. After the setback before the international break against Inter, the Biancocelesti responded with authority, dictating tempo from the opening whistle and rarely allowing Lecce to grow into the match.
The early scare came just six minutes in, when Sottil found the net for Lecce—but the goal was annulled for a foul on Isaksen in the buildup. From that point on, Lazio tightened their grip on the match, circulating the ball with confidence and pushing Lecce deeper into their own half.
The breakthrough arrived in the 29th minute. Matías Vecino’s replacement in midfield, Matteo Guendouzi—one of Lazio’s brightest performers on the night—timed his run perfectly, meeting a low delivery from Basic with a spectacular stretching finish that beat Falcone at the far post.
