Atalanta–Sassuolo 0–3: Berardi and Pinamonti Lead Neroverdi Rout, Atalanta Unrecognizable

Dominant Sassuolo performance in Bergamo: Berardi shines with a brace and an assist, Pinamonti scores, and Grosso’s team crush a flat Atalanta side 3–0.

Sassuolo’s remarkable away form continues as Fabio Grosso’s side storm the New Balance Arena with a resounding 3–0 victory over Atalanta. The Neroverdi, now unbeaten in three consecutive road games, played with organization, intensity, and confidence — everything Atalanta lacked in a dismal display that drew whistles from their own supporters.

The early stages hinted at a different outcome: Atalanta nearly took the lead on 9 minutes when Lookman’s strike beat Muric, only for Idzes to make a miraculous goal-line clearance with his head. It would prove a turning point.

From there, the match tilted in Sassuolo’s favor. The visitors pressed intelligently, kept their lines compact, and punished Atalanta’s sluggish ball circulation. On 29 minutes, Berardi converted from the spot after Carnesecchi fouled Pinamonti inside the box.

Juric reshaped his team at halftime — sending on De Ketelaere and Djimsiti — but the changes made no difference. Within two minutes of the restart, Berardi dazzled again, dancing past defenders before setting up Pinamonti, who turned and finished clinically for 2–0.

Atalanta’s response was minimal: Lookman and Krstovic both threatened but failed to find the target. The final blow came in the 66th minute — a classic Sassuolo counterattack finished by an unstoppable Berardi strike to seal his brace and the 3–0 win.

For Sassuolo, it’s another step toward European contention; for Atalanta, now winless in their last four league outings, the alarm bells are deafening.

Player Ratings

Atalanta: A night to forget. The defense collapsed under pressure, Pasalic was invisible, and Krstovic failed to make an impact. Only flashes from Lookman, but far from enough.

Sassuolo: Idzes’ early clearance changed the game’s momentum, while Thorstvedt and Matic dominated midfield. Berardi was simply sensational — two goals, one assist, and complete control. Pinamonti, sharp and selfless, led the line superbly.
