Lazio–Cagliari 2–0: Isaksen and Zaccagni Strike as Sarri’s Men Keep Climbing

The Biancocelesti extend their unbeaten run to six with a confident home win, moving closer to the European spots as Isaksen and captain Zaccagni seal the points at the Olimpico.

Lazio kept their momentum going with a 2–0 victory over Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico, a result that consolidates their place in the top half of the Serie A table and marks their second consecutive home win for the first time in a year.

Maurizio Sarri’s side took time to settle but gradually grew into the match after a slow start. Early chances for Cagliari — through Folorunsho and Gaetano — tested Lazio’s defense, but Provedel was alert. The hosts finally found their rhythm around the half-hour mark, with Zaccagni leading the charge. The winger’s creativity caused trouble for the visitors, first setting up Basic and then going close himself after a long run by Lazzari.

The breakthrough came in the 65th minute when Gustav Isaksen, lively all evening, cut inside from the right, beat Palestra and Luperto with a slick feint, and curled the opener into the far corner. Cagliari pushed forward late on, throwing on extra forwards, but failed to find a way past Provedel.

In stoppage time, a poor back pass from Prati gifted Zaccagni the ball at the edge of the box, and the Lazio captain made no mistake, blasting home the second to seal the victory.

It was a professional performance from Lazio, who are now on a six-match unbeaten streak and climbing steadily toward the European places. For Pisacane’s Cagliari, there were glimpses of fight but little end product — and more questions ahead of a difficult run of fixtures.
