Cagliari earn a vital three points in the relegation battle thanks to goals from Mina and Felici. Caprile decisive, Suzuki at fault on both goals.
Cagliari came out on top in a crucial relegation six-pointer, beating Parma 2-0 at the Domus Arena in a result that could prove decisive later in the season. Goals from Mina and Felici sealed the victory, with goalkeeper Caprile playing a starring role while Parma’s Suzuki had a night to forget.
The breakthrough came in the 33rd minute. After two incredible saves by Caprile to deny Pellegrino and Cutrone, Mina was quickest to react and tapped home from close range. The former Barcelona defender continues his hot streak, having also scored recently for Colombia after a four-year drought.
Parma almost equalized in the second half when substitute Oristanio rattled the crossbar with a fierce shot that had Caprile beaten. Moments later, Cagliari struck again: Adopo hit the post, Suzuki failed to deal with the rebound, and Felici pounced to slot home and double the lead.
Cutrone thought he had pulled one back for Parma late on, but referee Fourneau disallowed the goal for a foul by Pellegrino on Luperto in the buildup.
With this victory, Cagliari climb up the table, leaving Parma stuck in dangerous territory.
