Lazio 0-3 Como: Baturina and Nico Paz Run the Show at the Olimpico

A dominant away performance sees Como cruise past a fragile Lazio, with Nico Paz scoring twice despite a missed penalty on Matchday 21.

Lazio suffered a humiliating home defeat as Como swept aside Maurizio Sarri’s side with a convincing 3-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico. The match was effectively decided early, as the visitors imposed their rhythm from the opening minutes and never allowed Lazio back into the contest.

It took just over a minute for Como to take the lead. A low delivery into the box caused confusion in the Lazio defense, with Alessio Romagnoli’s deflection wrong-footing Provedel and allowing Martin Baturina to open the scoring. The goal set the tone for a one-sided evening.

Lazio attempted to respond but looked disjointed and predictable going forward. Ratkov struggled to integrate into Sarri’s attacking system, while Zaccagni appeared increasingly frustrated. Como, by contrast, were sharp and ruthless. In the 24th minute, Caqueret burst into the area and created chaos in the Lazio back line, with Nico Paz reacting quickest to slot home the rebound for 2-0.

The Argentine had the chance to add a third before halftime when Lazio conceded a penalty, but Provedel guessed correctly and saved Nico Paz’s spot kick, briefly keeping the scoreline respectable.

Any lingering hope for the hosts was extinguished early in the second half. Nico Paz made amends with a superb curling left-footed strike that beat Provedel at the far post, sealing the match and underlining Como’s technical superiority.

Sarri’s substitutions failed to spark a reaction, and Lazio appeared mentally checked out long before the final whistle. Como managed the game with ease, consolidating sixth place in the standings and cutting into Juventus’ advantage, while Lazio drift further away from the European places.
