Atalanta had the better chances, but Lazio held firm thanks to standout performances from Mario Gila and Ivan Provedel, as another goalless draw capped a quiet Serie A weekend.
Atalanta and Lazio played out a disappointing 0–0 draw in Bergamo, a result that leaves both sides frustrated and still struggling to find consistency in front of goal. Despite controlling large parts of the match, Ivan Juric’s Atalanta couldn’t break through a resilient Lazio defense led by the outstanding Mario Gila and the ever-reliable Ivan Provedel.
The first half offered little entertainment, with neither side able to create many clear chances. Lazio came closest in the 39th minute when Tavares whipped in a cross that found Zaccagni, whose delivery was met by Guendouzi — only for the Frenchman’s shot to rattle the crossbar. Atalanta’s best efforts before halftime came from Lookman and De Ketelaere, but both failed to seriously trouble Provedel.
The second half followed a similar pattern: Atalanta pushed harder, especially after the introduction of Krstovic and De Roon, but the final touch was missing. Zappacosta remained one of the few bright spots for the home side, working tirelessly on both ends of the pitch.
For Lazio, Maurizio Sarri’s men were content to absorb pressure and hit on the counter, though the loss of Cancellieri to injury early in the match limited their attacking options. In the end, neither side could find the breakthrough, adding yet another 0–0 to a Serie A weekend short on goals.
The result keeps both teams in mid-table, with work to be done if they hope to rejoin the race for European spots.
