Como Meets Real Madrid Over Nico Paz as Inter Monitor Situation Closely

The Argentine wonderkid’s future remains uncertain as Como travel to Madrid hoping to keep him, while Inter wait for a possible opening.

Nico Paz’s future could take a significant turn in the coming days.

Como sporting director Carlalberto Ludi is in Madrid to meet with Real Madrid officials and make one thing clear: the Italian club wants to keep the Argentine playmaker who became one of Serie A’s breakout stars last season.

The meeting at Valdebebas could shape one of the most intriguing transfer sagas of the summer, with Inter also keeping a close eye on developments.

Real Madrid still hold a buy-back clause on Paz that expires on June 30. The Spanish giants can re-sign the 21-year-old for €10 million, two years after selling him to Como for €6 million.

However, bringing Nico Paz back to Spain would not necessarily mean keeping him in Xabi Alonso’s squad. According to reports in Italy, Real Madrid see the Argentine as a highly valuable asset and could immediately put him back on the market, hoping to capitalize on his impressive rise in value after a stellar campaign in Italy and his recent World Cup debut with Argentina.

Sources close to the negotiations suggest Real Madrid value Paz at around €60 million.

Como, though, are trying to convince Florentino Pérez and company to abandon the buy-back option entirely. Their proposal would reportedly involve purchasing full ownership rights for approximately €40 million while allowing Real Madrid to retain a significant percentage of any future transfer.

Such a deal would provide Madrid with an immediate profit and the possibility of benefiting from an even larger sale down the road.

A third scenario remains on the table. Real Madrid could simply allow the current clause to expire and wait another year, when a new buy-back option worth €11 million becomes active. That approach would enable Nico Paz to spend another season at Como, gain experience in the UEFA Champions League, and potentially increase his market value even further.

Inter are watching carefully but remain cautious.

The Nerazzurri admire the player and would be ready to move should an opportunity emerge. However, after recently losing Marco Palestra to Chelsea despite months of negotiations, Inter have no intention of entering another complicated bidding war unless conditions become more favorable.

Financial considerations also play a role. Any move for Nico Paz would require a substantial investment, and several top European clubs are believed to be interested in the Argentine international.

For now, the decision belongs to Real Madrid and Como.

Whether Nico Paz remains on the shores of Lake Como, returns to Spain, or becomes the subject of an international transfer battle, today’s meeting in Madrid could prove decisive in determining the next chapter of his rapidly rising career.
